Cable and brace rods are structural supports that are intended to reduce the risk of failure of weak branches and multiple stems. Our cables consist of extra high strength steel that are attached to eye bolts and wraps. All this is usually installed in the upper crown of a tree. Our hardware is intended to limit the movement of the supported branches so they are less likely to fail during storms.

Braces are threaded rods that are installed through the junction of weak branches and multiple stems to provide more rigid support during violent weather. Cable and brace systems may need to be used together and should only be installed based on a thorough inspection and evaluation of the tree structure by our Arbor Works staff.
